Today at Sangam...

After savouring my holidays with the expected level of enjoyment at my grandma's place, i came back home today morning.. The reason for my coming back was to enjoy the residue of my holidays- which is gonna fade like the morining dew, in a few days- with the same expected level of enthusiasm.. But today, as when the sun went down in the evening, it took away my 'enjoyment' along with.. It is as if the sheen and lustre of my happiness had gone forever.. Yen ivalo build up.? The matter is.. I happen to see 'Silambattam' today.. The movie was SICK.! Sickest of its kind.. Simbhu, with his 'monkey' dancing, tried to rule over the screen but eventually failed.. He had ruled too much to be admired.. The exasperation persisted throughout the movie with a melange of nausea and headache.. While me and my friends were watching the movie, this was what running at the back of my head- YOU SHOULD RANT ABOUT THIS..! A crap which was beautifully tried to spread over the threatre screens.. And about the heroine- though i do not know who she is- SUCKS! (Well, it was according to me.. Cuz there may even be fans for her).

Simbhu had tried to boost up his image using Ajith's.. He used the Billa 'thala' image and connected it with his role in the movie.. Utill the Ajith's 'Billa' antics were screened, the whole audience were seemed like they were glued to their seats just for the 70 bucks they paid for this movie.. When he started to play his Ajith antics, the whole theatre- for the first time till we entered- started to burst with hails of howls and claps.. That was when my friend, who was sleeping, woke up..

The movie was so boring that my friend, the one who wasn't sleeping (we were three!), told me while returning home that "We could've put the money we spent for this shit in a donation box. It would've been useful for them in a way!". He was riding pillion, and it jerked me out of laughter that i almost lost my balance while riding.. The bottomline- SHIT movie! Too much exaggeration to be accepted. The movie reminds us of Basha (and movies of that kind) were the hero has a flashback to flash..

Tomorrow we are planning to go to Abhiyum Naanum, which would satisfy us cuz most of the reviews read- "Good".. We were pushed to watch this movie cuz we did not get ticket for both 'Ghajini' and 'Abhiyum Naanum'.. That is the two movies i really wanted to watch.. Hope we'd get tickets tomorrow..

The headache is still kiling me.. Gotto take some rest..

Yuvvraaj- Manmohini Morey Karaoke..!

This is the karaoke of the song 'Manmohini Moore' from the movie Yuvvraaj.. I liked this song the very first time i heard it.. This has a very subtle music.. A.R.R Rockzzz..! I listened to this more than a hundered times.. It still keeps playing within me.. This karaoke is close to the song and not the exact replica.. I couldn't concentrate much on it cuz i have my semesters going on.. So, I've just put some normal chords and some basic drum loops and made it sound close to the song.. (very tough one though ;)) I'll do the exact version later on for sure..

I did this using FL Studio and the "whoosh" sound in between is because of the trail version of Poizone i used.. With the trail version i cant save my file.. So i sat 3 hours for this and completed it.. It would've been far better without that sound.. I'll be glad if someone could find a crack for it, please post the link..

The one mistake of my life.!

Cha..! I'll never do this ever in my life again.. I should've listened to my friends.. They told me a hundered times not to.. But i did.. How could i.? Im totaly depressed.. Im mad now.. I wanna hit my head on the wall for doing that.. I've tried to tie a noose around my neck to kill myself and then realized not to.. Cuz i have social responsibilities.. I have to save a lot more others before they do that, and kill themselves.. I wasn't so low in life, nor tired of my life.. Yet i did what my friends had told not to.. Yes..! Unfortunately.. yes.. Unfortunately i watched 'Sakkarakatti' today.. My God.! If there has to be a sick movie ever made, the title should be given to this.. It was totaly crap.! Today was Deewali.. I could've spent that 2hrs in something useful.. My face had no reaction from the beginning till the end of the movie.. No reaction.! Rather wincing..!

Peter english, over-acting hero, stupid heorin who tries hard to talk in tamil (I guess everyone in that college knows only Englees.. Maybe for this movie they tried to talk in Tamil, which they found so difficult to speak.. Or maybe..!? SHIT), Sudden unrelated burst of songs in between, Stupid jokes and after all- Mokka story..!

I saw this movie just for the music.. I wonder why A.R.Rahman chose this film.. The director atleast could've concentrated on the songs.. He, for sure, would know the songs are gonna be hit.. He could've picturized it a little more better.. Even 'little more' is no close.. He should've completely changed his ideas and had done something realted to what the lyrics has to tell.. Anyway.. Please dont watch this movie.. If you feel you are so low in life, if you think you're no more fit to survive, if you wanna commit suicide, then go watch the movie..!

Aegan- 3.5/5 stars..!

Saw Aegan today.. Ajith has acted so well and is one of the good movies that has been released for Deewali.. Eventhough the story is a stolen one, the direction and the screenplay is as one could appreciate.. Moreover, the delivery of dialogues was really nice.. Ajith has managed to balance between the roles where he has to act as a comedian, and a hero.. The one thing i really thought when i saw the 'Mallika' song on SS music was- HE IS FAT.! Ajith's paunch is pushing out to be visible.. And the one thing i really liked when saw the movie was he agreed that he has a paunch in the movie itself.. There was a scene where his father (Naazer) asks him (Ajith, CBI) to act as a student in a college so as to find a bad guy.. Ajith strongly averse to it cuz he looks more aged than a college-going and he says he also has a big belly.. That one was cool.. The whole movie is a melange of 'comedy' and 'serious' scenes.. Even the villian is shown as a comedian at times.. Nice movie.. Can be watched once.. Or maybe twice.. ;)

I saw this movie the day before Deewali and its suprising for me to see that only very less number of people were bursting crackers.. It was also in the newspaper that lot of people chose not to burst crackers.. I've stopped bursting crackers since when i left school.. Its pretty suprising to see people really considering this pollution problem (or maybe cuz of the cost of the crackers!) and reduce the pollution and problems it causes.. I always used to think that bursting crackers are like burning your own money.. The difference- a 'BOOM'..! I guess this time people got a bit conscious and started to buy something useful instead of crackers.. Some people thought deewali is a festival to booze.. I saw many drunken people, fighting and lying on the road helplessly, on the way to the theatre.. That was sick.!

Afterall, the movie was good.. Worth watching..

Happy Deewali..!

Awaaz Hoon Mein

Aaja Mein Hawaon pe Bithake Le Chalun
Tu Hi To,Tu hi to Meri Dost Hain
Aaja Mein Khalon Mein Uthake Le Chalun
Tu Hi To Meri Dost Hain

Aaja Mein Khalon Mein Uthake Le Chalun
Tu Hi To Meri Dost Hain

Raat Mein Chandni Kabhi
Aisi Gungunati Hain
Sunn Zara Lagta Hain Tumse
Awaaz Milati Hain

Mein Khayalon Ki Mehek Hooon
Gungunate Saaz Par

Ho Sake To Milale
Awaaz ko Mere Saaz Par

Aaja Mein Hawaon pe Bithake Le Chalun
Tu Hi To Meri Dost Hain
Aaja Mein Khalon Mein Uthake Le Chalun
Tu Hi To Meri Dost Hain

Awaaz Ka Dariya Hoon
Behta Hoon Mein Nili Raaton Mein
Main Jaagta Rehta Hoon
Neend Bhari Jheel Se Aankhon Mein
Awaaz Hoon Mein

O Kabhi Dekhe Hain Saahil
Jahan Sham Utarti Hain
Kehte Hain Samunder Se
Ek Pari Guzarti Hain

Labon se aake choo de apni lab zara
Tu muskura jahaan bhi hai tu muskura
Shareer se yeh muskurahatein teri
Badan mein sunti hun main aahatein teri

Aisa hota hai khayalon mein aksar
Tujhko sochun toh mehak jati hun
Meri rooh mein basi hai teri khushboo
Tujhko choo lun toh behek jaati hun

Teri aankhon mein,

Yuvvraaj rocks- 4/5 stars..!

Music Maestro A.R.Rahman has not let down his fans.. Yuvvraaj music is too good.. The movie stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan.. The orchestration used in the album is good.. As this film is a music-based one, rahman gave out his best as always..! Click on the song to download it..!

Main Hoon Yuvvraaj- This begins with salman Khan's melodramatic voice with Beethovan's 5th played behind.. I've read that Salman plays a music-lover role in the film, But he starts off with the introduction track with salman's voice telling 'Im a bad guy'.. Maybe he is a 'bad' musician.. you know what i mean.! ;)

Tu Meri Dost Hain- Nice melody.! I really could'nt believe Benny Dayal has sung it.. His voice just cross the borders of melodies and drifts us pensive.. Shreya Ghosal as usual have added beauty to the beautiful.. Other voices- A.R. Rahman, Salman Khan.. This song is awesome.. Too good.! My rating- 9/10

Shano Shano- Shano Shano is pop.. According to me, this is a bit not-much-interesting track.. But makes you keep it played untill its over.. Good one, not a very good one.. Sonu Nigam has taken the lead were Karthik, Timmy, Sunaina, Vivianne, Tina, Blaaze has given back vocals.. My rating- 7.5/10

Tu Muskura- Too good.! The orchestration that supported the song is beyond explanations.. Soothing song with Alka Yagnik's soothing voice.. The interlude inbetween is phenomenal.. Roop Kumar, Javed Ali has also given voices.. Javed ali's part at the end reminds me of 'RDB'.! My rating- 8.5/10

Mastam Mastam- Mastam Masatam is a medley.. Sonu, Alka, Subhash Ghai, Naresh Iyer, Benny has given voices for this song.. Rahman have treid to give out a different melody, and it pays off.. The eding of the song is just not that words can explain.. My rating- 8/10

Zindagi- Srinivas has sung this song.. This song reminds me a bit of 'tu bin bataye'.. Melodious track, good music.. My rating- 8.5/10

Dil Ka Rishta- Orchestration of this song is stupendous.. Rahman comes inbetween with his carnatic singing, in his usual high pitch.. The ending of this song is just AWESOME.! Sonu, Roop Kumar, Clinton, Suzanne, Vivianne, Naresh, Benny, Blaaze, Rahman has given voices.. My rating- 9/10

Manmohini Morey- A new guy Vijay Prakash has sung this song.. Fantastic Hindustani.! He manages to stay within the subtle music of this track.. This song is too good.. Rahman have yet again proved that he is the only one who could do wonders in music.. And this happens to be my favourite track.. My rating- 9.5/10

Shano Shano remix- Villian-ish music at the begining after a rap, blends in with the chorus of the original shano shano.. This remix better than the original one.. My rating- 8.5/10

Click here for the entire album

I loved the music not just cuz im a rahmaniac, cuz of the stupendous music.. And thats why im a rahman fan like millions others.. The Rahman-Subhash Ghai combo comes after a very long gap and i guess the film will not let us down as well..!

Aegan- 2/5 stars..!

This is my review of Aegan songs.. I am dissappointed with the tracks and its not all that good.. May be it sounds good on screen..! Click on the song to download it..!

Hey Baby- This song is so jazz-y, with a heavy mixture of piano, trumpet and sax.. It made me feel like this- Maybe yuvan would've made this song half done already, and when the director approached him, he'd have finished the rest of the piece, just to make it a '4 mins track'..! Jazz rules more than the song itself and shankar mahadevan seems to sing in a passive pace throuhgout the song..! Initially, when i first listened to the track, the song sounded more like the jillunu oru kadal title song..! My rating- 5/10

Hey Saala 1 & Hey Saala 2- This begins with an emotional recital and catches up with the "yuvan's" synthesised beats.. There are two tracks with the same name- Hey Saala.. The only difference is the level of usage of synth.. Blaze, as usually, blends his voice with the song in his stylish tamil pronounciation.. Naresh Iyer and Mohd. Aslam comes in when the songs shifts to a bit more heavy synthesised beats.. Although this seems a little heavy to the ears, it makes us wanna move to the beat.. My rating- 6/10

Kichu Kichu- It begins with Vasundara Das's thin, sharp voice.. With an Arabian touch, the song goes on with vasundara das maintaing her half-suppressed seducing voice.. Yuvan comes in with "mallika, i wanna bite u like nellika" rap.. (sucks!).. My rating- 4/10

Odum Varayil- The cheering of crowd at the begining sounds like it has recorded from some cricket stadium (At first, while listening to it for the first few seconds, I thought it was kinda 'cheer the player' song.. (My guess was wrong).. And then the chorus mixes with the beats, yelling 'FREEDOM'.! Kay Kay and Bela Shende has given voice for this song.. The songs shifts to pleasant-sounding chords, and that is where Bela Shende comes in.. Yuvan would've played with chords to change scales up and down and then comes back again to where he was.. My rating- 5/10

Yahoo Yahoo- This happens to be the teen-y song of the album were the lyrics are all about college and teens.. Suvi, Ujjaini, Sathyan, Ranjith and Naveen have given voices to this song.. Yuvan would've thought the word 'Yahoo' might turn into a trendy word among youngsters, like he defined his song 'Dost Bada Dost' from saroja as the 'anthem for the youth' (what the hell?).. My rating- 5/10

When i saw the posters with Ajith having long beard, skull cap and a gun, i thought the album would definitly strech beyond people's expectations.. But i was dissapointed when i heard the tracks.. My total rating- 5/10 for the album.. Waiting for the movie..

Varnam Aayiram- 3/5 stars..!

Its a little late to write a review for this album.. But i really wanna write one for this.. I have not heard the album untill two days back.. And i've also read that the music is a bit good.. So, planned to write one.. Click on the song name to download it..!

Adiye Kolluthe- Distorted guitar, running bass, awesome voices, percussions, totally- GOOD.. Krish, Benny Dayal sang it well especially the 'Adiye Kolluthe' line.. Shruthi Hassan is far ahead of what i thought she might be.. Her voice is too good with a western mix.. Her stylish pronounciation of tamil in this song was really good.. I want more of 'shruthi haasan songs' to get realease ;).. My rating- 8/10

Annul Maelae- Nice melody.. It has a touch of 'Enadhuyire' from 'Bheema' (same director.. so similar music.?).. Sudha Raghunathan's mesmerizing voice embellishes the song.. Sudha has given a mix of Bombay jayashree and M.S.Subhalaxmi in her voice.. Nice song, but gives a feel that the tune already exists.. My rating- 8/10 ('8' for the pads he used to make it sound 'melodious'.!)

Ava Enna- A 'harris' folk song.. Karthik, V.Prasanna gave the voices for this song.. Nice song.. My rating- 6/10

Mundhinam- The dialogue in the begining of the song is just AWESOME.! The acoustic guitars and the 'thinny but muffled' tones of this song easily shows that its a harris music.. Naresh Iyer, Prashanthini has given voices for this song.. My rating- 7/10

Nenjukkul- This song is good.. I wanna the name of the one who played nylon guitar lead in this song.. If anyone knows, please let me know.. Again, a 'harris' song (i mean, the guitar and muffled tones.. He uses the same combinations.. As of how it sounded to me.!).. Good guitar work.. Hariharan, Devan, V.Prasanna are the singers and they are too good.! My rating- 8/10 ('8' for the guitar works.!)

Oh! Shanthi Shanthi- A rock version of the mundhinam song.. Clinton's husky voice adds sugar to the cake.. S.P.B.Charan sounds like krish in this song.. My rating- 6/10.

Yethi Yethi- Super song.. good beats.. He made it sound with a touch of the Arabian style, esp. when 'Yethi Yethi'.. This songs moves your head to the beat.. Nice song.. Benny Dayal, Naresh Iyer, Solar Sai are the songers.. My rating- 7/10..

When i downloaded this, i found two extra songs 'Ragasiyam' and 'Meela Mudiyamal'.. I wonder who the musicans could be.? 'Ragasiyam' song is good.. It made me think that the music director might be harris.. Nice compsition and awesome voice.. I really loved the female voice.. And 'Meela Mudiyamal'- SICK.! To be more specific in our lingo- MOKKA.! A voice that should'nt be called for singing.. But the tune was good and it sounds like it was made using FL Studio.. ;)..

Totally, Varnam Ayiram is good and my overall rating- 7/10.. Waiting for the movie..

Have you ever wondered how a song is composed.?

Here, in this post, im gonna explain how a song is composed in a studio.. I got inspired to write upon this from a blog which i read last night.. Im not sure whether these are followed by every music directors, but most of it are basic ones that one has to follow to bring out good music.. As of i know, and as of i've learnt, i think this is how a song is done.. The process starts like this..

The music director listens to the script of the movie and then deciedes upon having it agreed or rejected.. It all depends on the script of the movie and the way a movie director conveys it..

After the selection of the script, the music director asks the director for the need of the song and the reason why it has to be played after that particular scene.. If he is satisfied, he agrees.. else he rejects..

There are two ways by which a tune is composed.. First, the lyricist writes the lyrics and music directors compose tunes or vice versa.. The latter is comparitively easy..

He then sits down to compose with his own voice and records every songs in his voice.. (This depends upon the music directors.. Some may have singers who are used for this purpose..)

He deciedes for the singers depending upon the actors in the movie.. More than the song itself, voices are more essential and it has to be selected so that it matches with the charater screened in the movie..

The singers are called and are made to sing the song which was already sung by the music director (or someone).. Recording the vocals takes 3-4 days and it takes 10-15 days for a song (It depends upon the song and the music directors).. Legends like Rahman never modifies the song, instead, he makes the singers to modify as per the song..

Music arrangers are people who assist Music Directors.. Music Directors supervise the works of the Music arranger and tells him if there is a change that has to be made.. Music arranger takes care of rest of the process.. He arranges the pads, percusions, rhythms, chords, basslines, strings etc.. Muscians like Rahman and Ilayaraja are not Music Directors, they are Music Composers and are totally different from Music Directors..

The actual music composition starts only after when the vocals get over.. He applies his ideas and creativity to make the song a hit.. The vocals and the music are done seperately and are then mactched accordingly.. The frequency must match else it has to be matched using the FDM and it is a huge process..

The song mixing is a very tedious one.. Programming is done using softwares like Logic, Garage etc.. Logic is a audio mixing software that can only be used in Apple Mac computers.. Pre-mixing is done by channeling the tracks- chorus in two tracks, percusions in two tracks etc.. Every track has channels which has a baud rate frequency.. And that frequency is used for the pitch of the song (for more on this technically, google it!).. There is something called the 'resonant frequency' which is achieved from the intersection of pitch depth value and volume graph.. It is very difficult to obtain the resonancy and it purely depends upon the equipments one has in his studio..

Then EUPHONIX comes in for its work.. Euphonix is used to give an analog warmth.. Most of the directors use Abysynth for generating synth.. Synth, Loops and samples enhance the song.. Music directors buys loops and samples from companies like Sony and Apple who are the major distributors.. Musicians, example, a pianist would've have played his tunes and would've sold it to Sony
or other distributors on agreement.. Music directors buys it from them and uses them in their songs.. Its like this- Instead of calling the musicians, they buy thier recorded piece and uses them..

Audio samples plays a very vital role for music directors.. Audio samples can be used anywhere in a song and it sounds original.. A portion of a sound recording is taken and can be reused as an instrument or element for a new recording.. This is done using computer programmes.. I've read from a blog that the drum beats which comes at the end of Rahman's MUKABULA MUKABULA are nothing but Audio samples and he has got the largest collections of Audio samples in Asia..

There is something that we have to learn which sounds very similar to pitch.. Music directors have 'tracks' which range from 1-15.. A singer who sings in track 15 is of a very high scale.. Rahman, Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan can sing in track 15 which is a very high scale.. To differentiate between these tracks, let us take the song JAAGE HAIN from GURU.. Rahman starts in low mod and then shifts to high mod track 15.. These are done in many songs.. Krish's voice in Vennilave (Vetayadu Vilayadu) is made to modualate from low mod to high mod.. It is difficult for some singers to sing in a very high scale so the music directors tells the singers to sing in a low mod tack 5 or 6, and then shifts it to track 12 or 13 as they wish.. To make this, it takes more time and it is done by Frequency Division Modulation.. To replicate the same sound of the singer in track 12, advanced machineries should be available in one's studio, else it clearly shows.. And also, this is a very costly process..

Music director composed BGM from the script explained by the directors.. After when the movie is shooted, the BGM is altered numerous times to attune to the scene.. Sometimes, the directors make the scene attune to the music.. For most of the BGMs, local directors use software which create pleasent sounds.. Sound editing is done using softwares like Neundo, Cubase ,Sonar and Logic which reduces the work of the music director.. Rahman uses very less of these and he always opts for original sounds.. Harris, yuvan and other local directors uses atmosphere pads like Area 51, Air 201, Equinox etc in their songs which gives a pleasent sound.. Even FL studio has various pads collection.. These just make the song sound good but the originality gets burried..

Composing a song is a very difficult process which requires advanced softwares and hardwares to transform the sound into a required one.. A very basic software that can be used for composition is the FL Studio where one can sit at home and compose tracks.. It is even possible to make a song sound good using FL Studio but all we need to have is creativity.. Tunes that i compose using the FL Studio sounds normal and it has no originality, perhaps, no life.. For a song to be felt, or to get it etched in our hearts, the very basic ratio is 1:10.. That is, 10% is of the loops and 'software-created' instruments, and 90% is of the originality and innovation.. FL helps in exercising our innovations and creativity, but it should be known that you're still a 'dummy composer'..! And ya.. That goes for me as well..!!

Comics.!

Stand-up comedies are being my 'always special' heart-warming shows.. I've watched sitcoms, and other farcical comedy shows but none can emulate stand-ups.. As far as I seem, Every stand-up comics have a special talent within.. Comedians like Stephen Lynch, who is also a musician, plays guitar and writes his own songs.. The lines in his lyrics interprets meanings that you never have imagined to come in a song like that.. He starts off the song with a beautiful guitar strum with a beautiful line like "there once was a guy..", and then it slowly drifts to rhymic funny lines.. He, according to me, is so talented that he balances perfectly between his singing, his guitar'ing, his lines and his attitude.. As a guitarist, that kind of an act is a bit difficult for me.. Some of his best which i like:

If I were gay:

The ugly baby song:

Lullaby song:

Love song:

And next comes my always favourite- Russell peters.. He is a canadian comic of Indian descent.. Most of his jokes are on rascism and Indian culture.. I've seen his DVD's and the one which i like the most is 'Comedy Now- Uncensored'.. I've also watched his latest DVD 'Outsourced' and some of other videos which he had performed in NY and Canada.. His audience could not stop laughing their stomach out when he starts talking in Indian accent, the 'typical' Indian accent.. Some of his clips i liked the most:

Indian Accent:

Gay Indians:

Be a man:

Ugly women:

on Jamaicans:

the list goes on..

Next is a person i always adore- Jeff Dunham.. He is an Award-winning ventriloquist.. Peanut, Walter, Achmed, José Jalapeño and Melvin are his puppets.. He's been doing ventriqolism since his school days and is still a star.. One would not see it as a puppet, instead, he makes you see it as a character.. I've seen videos of other ventriloquists but when it comes to pick the best, its Jeff.. I wonder how he writes his scripts.. Ironically, he has named one of his DVDs as 'Arguing with myself', but it never seem so.. He had introduced two new puppets- Bubba J and Sweet Daddy D in his 'Arguing with myself' DVD.. Some of his shows which i like:

Achmed the dead terrorist:

Peanut:

Melvin:

His always favourite puppet- Walter:

For me, these guys seems like a way better than others, or maybe i might not have seen comics better than them.. Watever.. I've also watched comedies of the famous Ellen DeGeneres (you might've seen her shows, cuz shez a bit 'famous'!), Pablo Francisco (this guys make jokes about sex and is very good mimic. He beatboxes, and also delivers his jokes burlesquing, and is very good at that), George Carlin, Lewis Black, Will Smith, Jim Carey and list goes.. So, When u feel like you're down in emotions, just watch some stand-ups and that'l bring you up back ;).. Dhanyawadh.!

Happy Days (Rock Version) [Karaoke]..!

This is the karaoke of the song 'Happy Days' from the telugu movie Happy days.. Though i know 0% telugu, I liked this song the very first time of listening to it and wanted to sing this with a karoake.. Found no good results on net.. Even if i find one, that'd be of '.rm' file that is futile for me cuz i dont have softwares that help me support it as BG for me to sing.. After all ways, i thought of creating it my own.. I spent a whole night and ahoy! its done.. Some of the instruments are reproduced the same way as in the song.. Hence the originality differs in just a few millicenti in a 10m scale (i believe so. ;) ).. Hope you like it.. Sing it yourself and upload it (and if possible, please drop the link where u've uploaded cuz this song is of a little higher pitch and i want to listen to your voices :) ).. [Software Used: FL 8]

Belt out- Click here.. to download.!

This song is called 'Belt Out'.. I composed this track using the FL studio advanced.. This'd be a little different cuz it starts with a pleasant piano touch and then shifts to kinda rock song.. I would've tried to shift the style without changing the essence that the starting of the song had.. Just an experiment with 'shift of moods'.. i hope you'd like it.. Listen to it and please leave your comments.. [Software Used: FL 8]

Sarkar Raj--> Govinda Govinda..!!

Yesterday i saw the movie Sarkar Raj in Inox, city center.. I think there's no need for a detailed review cuz the movie is dumb.. Dialogues were like typing sentences with a long gap in between.. It takes 3 to 4 secs for each word to drop from Big B's mouth.. Ironically, He proved that action speaks louder than words.. And about the BGM which is nothing but 'Govinda Govinda' with all strings ensemble.. I guess the BGM gave a cryptic message about the result of the movie.. Its somewhat like 'Godfather'.. Me thinks, the movie was'nt all good.. Was'nt good that we exited the threatre even before the climax was screened.. Story-> Aishwarya Rai brings a power plant proposal to Abisheik to set up in Maharashtra.. Abishiek takes interest over it as he believes it would help the people of Maharashtra.. Amitab Bachan opposes this as his insight tells that something was wrong.. Tanisha Mukarjee (abishek's wife), who is pregnant, dies in a bomb blast which is actually set in Abishiek's Benz to kill him, who is saved by a phone call and when Tanisha, in the car, requests the driver to switch on the AC, which blasts the car.. And then bad guys kills Abieshiek and Amitab takes the revenge with Aishwarya.. Eventually, all of whom Abeisheik and Amitab believed to be the good guys, were the actual bad guys.. Amitab kills everyone.. Hurray.. The movie's over.. Govinda Govinda.. !!

Reminiscence-- School Visit..!

School is the only place where one's mind and attitude is chiselled, nourishing education.. School is the reason for what you are and what you've become.. Its true that studying/working/being in a place for a long time would bring hatred, but not until we realize the sweetness that makes us stand nostalgic.. I happen to visit my school after 3 years.. I studied in St.Mary's Boys HSS, chennai.. Those memories of the old days where i used to savor every moment i'v been in my school.. Although 3 years is not much a long period, i missed my school a lot.. When in school, i wanted to finish my education and get rid of it as soon as possible.. But i was'nt sure that it'd bring tears when i step in my school after years.. The visit was'nt all planned.. I got a call from a friend who told me to assemble at my friend's place.. We were only five of 'em and no others (of our classmates) were available.. The memories of the good old times flashed when i reached the main gate of my school.. A spontaneous smirk rose in everyone's face and we looked at each other with reminiscence.. Since i studied in the same school right from my childhood, i remember the place where i used to wait for my autorikshaw to come and pick me up.. Renovations has been done and the classes looks neater than it used to be.. I went with my friends- Srivatsan, Arumugam, Ashwin and Balaji (the guy who acted in KKK as 'joe'.. He's my school mate.!).. We were first recognized by our P.T master, who was shouting at the students to form a line for the prayer as the lunch period just got over.. Everybody recognized Balaji and students thronged to have a closer look at him to believe that it was really him.. It was uneasy for us to accompany him.. Its so stupid to see students huddle around him begging for an autograph.. It was fun to watch as he was my classmate since my childhood and now he suddenly turn out to be a star, or kind of 'a star'..

The school canteen where we use to fight for samosas and bajjis.. The labs where we used to stand out most of the time with a 'incompletion of observation' tag.. The playground where we had fun playing weird games.. The toilets where the walls were once decorated artistically with profanities by us.. The libraries where we never borrowed a book from, rather read zoology books for better sexual knowledge.. And the classes where the actual heaven dwells, were welcoming us.. Most of the teacher remembered us except a very few.. Welcoming were profuse.. Teachers gathered and we had a talk for 2 hrs.. Many of the staffs that i wanted to see, retired from their jobs and new staffs were replaced.. I wanted to see my maths professor (who once has set a record in my class by taking 7 periods of mathematics subject in a 8 periods daily schedule) who was one of the reason for me to score 172/200 in a subject that i'v never crossed 50.. Unfortunately, he had retired from his job 6 months back ('i was late' i thought to myself.!).. Then saw our principle who was very happy to see his old students and spared his time with us to share some memories.. We allowed ourselves to walk the whole school, floor by floor, class by class, savoring the flourishing aroma of our old school..

The most astonishing thing is that i happened to meet a teacher who was my classteacher in LKG.. She was pretty old and hardly could recognize me.. I told her that i was her student and she was happy that i still remember her.. The only thing i wish i would'nt have done was calling Balaji, if i wanted a peaceful chat.. As school children was aware of the tv serial KKK, many students thronged to get an autograph from him that disturbs our conversation.. And then teachers start to ask about his current projects and he would brag about that.. And then we crack a joke on him and change the topic.. But it was fun watching little children longing for an autograph from a guy who studied with us, who now, is an actor..

School is always a step ahead of universities and colleges.. The moments we enjoyed in school would never come back again in any other educational institution no matter how big the institution is.. The shift of age from a little boy to a teenager, first crush and first love, everything happens nowhere but in school..

School days- Unforgettable memories that would bring tears..!

He said Rahman's Ada is dumb..! I could'nt slap him.!

Today, while i was reading the newspaper (The Hindu), an article caught my eye.. A unknown i-am-more-a-critic junkass wrote the music review of 'Ada' and 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na'.. He almost related every single song of the album with some other song which i think, is no way related.. He said 'Hawa sun hawa' song from Ada is similar to 'Udhaya' from the movie Udhaya.. oh.. wait a second.. who are you.? what the fuck is wrong with you.? Have you ever heard the song.? And hey.. i wonder why they publish crap like this in a reputed newspaper.. He related most of the song with songs hell no way related.. who is he.? A music critic.? Oh fuck him man.. After reading it, i thought its worth a crap.. I mean, whos gonna appreciate for his i-found-something article..? huh.? This provoked me write this blog.. And this dumb ass &^$&$ also commented about 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na'.. He said that Rahman copied tunes of Devi Sri Prasasd's.. Oh come on man.. Are you out of your mind.? 'Kabhi Kabhi' is similar to 'Appudo Ippudo' from bommiliru it seems.. Does it.? I dont think so..

He, with no sense, commented that Rahman copied Devi Sri Prasad's songs.. It almost had me jumped of my couch and i cant stop laughing.. I have him this- A Big Hard Slap on his ugly little cheeks.. Oh wait.. why am i writing this..? No one's gonna give a darn about his article anyway.. He thinks he found something, which people think- It's just shit.. A literal shit in words.. Me jibs.!

Meherban karaoke..!

This audio clip was created by yours truly.. This is 'Meherban' from the movie 'ada'.. I created it using softwares and it took 6 hours to create this.. What took me so long.? Actually, the instruments you hear in the audio has to be arranged and played accordingly, manually.. This is not a loop, the keyboard you hear in the audio has to be literally played through the software.. Playing in a real keyboard or drums is completely different from playing it through softwares.. And also while playing a instruments, the pressure (to get the grand piano effect) you apply on the keys also has to be determined, for a pukka replica of the song.. And hence it took me so long.. I completed just 50% of the song and will complete the rest soon when i find time.. Comment on it.. Personally i like this song, i liked it the first time i heard it and hence made me create the karaoke.. AR's the best..!

The softwares i used to create this are FL studio, Audacity, Sound forge and sound recorder.. Anyone can create this provided they must know the basics of playing any instrument.. I'l soon upload another track with my voice.. Rite now im working on 'Malare' song by S5.. will post that soon.. Do comment on it and let me know how do u like it..

Ada- Rocking..!

Another mind-boggling album- 'Ada'.. A.R once again proved he is the best.. as he always does.. Songs are mesmerizing.. With 9 tracks and 1 instrumental, im sure the movie's gonna be a musical hit.. My favorites tracks are- Ishq ada, hawa sun hawa, meherban (of course, cause of Rahman's voice) and also the instrumental.. Yet another album to have it heard all day in your PMP.. Rocking.. Buy the album right away..

Shatter the fetters..!!

I have this strong dislike for orkut being introduced the 'lock-your-album' crap.. The only pass-time we get through orkut is peeking into other's albums when you get to stumble upon a good looking female grinnin' in her display pic.. Actually, this was a pass-time for everyone when orkut got introduced.. And now they slowly started to harden the privacy thing by letting you NOT see other's scrapbook (this sounds to be a rant of a poor guy who tried to examine every profile he finds..!) Actually yes.. If you plot a graph between the usage of orkut during the introduction-period and current-period, you'd probably find the graph high at first and then dropping down drastically.. All because of this lock-your-album crap.. But i also know the reasons for why they made their security stronger.. After being heard of this killer-through-orkut rumors, there was a talk that orkut's gonna get shut down.. But it rather got up with a different and stronger approach of introducing the advanced security systems (which i believe could'nt be hacked).

They also have introduced google products in orkut, like videos, google talk, blogs, feeds and lot more.. This actually made the room even more bigger to stay in orkut for a long time than expected.. It has the equal level of disadvantage too- Pornography (that was like a 50 yr old says.. but actually its cool, not for me! ;).)..Orkuteers create fake profiles and upload it with hundreds of porn videos and pictures (they wont lock their profiles).. Are they actually trying out some service for the porn-cravers here..? Why does'nt orkut have a check on all this..? Not recently i studied the misconception my father has on orkut.. He believes its a place where someone easily prone to get spoiled.. Actually yes, but depends on how one uses it.. I had my father saw me sitting in front of my computer screen which displayed Orkut home page and he shot me this : "how long since you've been into this.? ".. Been into what.? Sounded skeptical.. From that time on, i wont let him see me using orkut.. funny huh..?

I started off with my rant to shatter the album-locks and then ended up with something else.. I think (like everyone else) that it'd be great if the lock is shattered.. Ahem.. Amen..!

PS: And rite now, having been finished with the Da Vinci Code, i cannot understand its epilogue.. Did Langdon get the Holy Grail..? It'd be helpful if someone help me out with that.. waitin'..

Kuruvi- Tawdry movie.!

Unthinkably crummy.. Another commercial vijay-type movies in which the climax is predictable.. The film can be illustrated three-pronged-> Vijay's intro and the happy dancing, Vijay in love with trisha (i hate her though.. brr.!) and in trouble, and eventually figth scenes, eradication of the enemies with tetanus shots and saving the people with a happy ending.. Songs starts with no relation to the scenes.. A pukka commercial movie which can be seen once, if there's no other tickets available in the theater..

Original or Parody..??

Ilayaraja's one of the best composition is 'Agaya vennilave..' from the movie Arangetra Velai.. When i listened to this song for the first time, i myself pictured the song with beautiful love scenes.. I never had seen the song before until when i got to hear my friends' comments about the video when i hum this song in class.. Can a choreo get any worse.? watch this..

Revathi actually tries something close to Barathanatiyam (or something else) but i dont think it is a Barathanatiyam.. And about prabhu.. just one word- Sick.! He does this 'Break-dance' thing.. crap.! this is not a song where one break-dances listening to.. There's an awesome violin bit with strings bgm, something like a music for a soul who just broke up with his lover (i actually pictured so.. ).. It starts at around 00:57 in the video and choreo was even worse, not even close to give out anything relating to the music.. But was a different picture- It was hilarious to watch them dancing around a tree (which has pink leaves) where prabhu tries this 'romantic' thing (but fails) and revathi stupidly gives him a rose.. Brr..!

Upshot-> Awesome song, sick dancing..!

Alas.! It's back.!

I heard some weird sound that made me jump out of my bed and ruin my sleep.. The alarm from my cell phone that literally jolt me.. I saw the time with a half-closed eyes and it was 3 am.. The alarm was still ringing.. Thought time is running so fast, but who cares a darn, I fumbled under the sheets and went back to sleep, again, pressing the 'snooze' option.. The same monotonous alarm started ringing and this time i felt like throwing the phone off my window.. I almost heaved, but by then thought about the repercussions, that my father would kill me.. Totally exasperated, saw the time in my cell phone, it showed 3:05 am.. @#*..! Got out the bed, brushed my teeth, drank hot coffee to get myself active enough to study.. This is happening to be my everyday routine because of my exams.. Its been a week long since i've slept continuously for 12 hrs like i used to.. It is so worrying me and a thought always runs in my mind in lines, "I should've studied this chapter earlier.!" , everytime i sit with my book.. Winced all the three months and expecting for the last moment preparation to work.. Ridiculous.! As my title goes "alas.! my exams are back.!"

Rahman- God of music.!

Lately, im kind of obsessed with Rahman's music.. Im familiar with the line: Ideal mind is devil's workshop.. But if my mind is ideal, it starts playing random Rahman songs.. I've become even more obsessed after watching Rahman's live concert that happened recently in chennai.. Im getting to know more about him, his history and future plans.. He is the one who inspired me so much that i turn back if i hear someone calling the name 'Rahman'.. I wish he continues doing wonders in music and make people stay within the chord..

Changing notes- I was there.!

India has very few people that the whole world recognizes.. One of them is A.R.Rahman.. The music maestro is better known for his remarkable compositions and love towards his motherland.. His concerts were held in so many places around the world and also happened in chennai recently.. I was lucky to be one of the audience waving my hands to the tune.. Times of India released its first edition on 14th.. They offered this Rahman's concert tickets in exchange for a coupon.. Not within half-a-day, all the newspapers got sold out and people were seen taking Times Of India in bundles.. I was informed a bit early so i managed to buy 10 papers.. The concert was held on 14th in St.George's ground opposite to pachayyapan colege.. People thronged in for the concert which made a heavy traffic congestion near Pachayyapan college.. The show was scheduled to start at 6:30, but got delayed due to some reasons.. Scintillating lights, crowd yelling and with confetti adornment, A.R.Rahman stepped down from the stairs on the stage, getting down humbly towards the crowd, singing Ore kana from Guru.. It was like the God of music himself is getting down.. People were so enthusiastic and energetic that they forgot themselves.. The list of songs performed in the concert:

I wish for more A.R. live concerts in chennai..

My College Annual Day..!

This is really a long due after my last blog (Infact, this was the starting line of my previous blog too.!).. That's cuz i did'nt find time and also had nothing to blog on.! Now i have something to write.. Nothing but my college 'Annual Day'..

Its been quite long since i attended my last class .. I guess its been 3 weeks.. Cuz i bunk classes for the so-called 'Annual Day practice'.. It was some three weeks back i met vikas sir (Department of CSE)., later became our team leader who deals everything regarding Annual Day.. Hez really a very nice guy and well talented.. He deals with the poster designs for our college, format designs, flash movies, animated movies lots more.. he's extra talented .. In fact, hez one of my friends now (hez jus 26).. Initially we had no singers in our team.. So i called my friend parvathi (awesome carnatic singer in our college) to join our team.. later, many singer from 2nd and 1st year showed up..

The Annual day was initially scheduled for 8th of march.. But then it was postponed cuz of the chief guests (cuz of their dates).. So we got extra time to bunk (I know how mad my friends will get while reading this.. Guys chillax.!).. We use to practice for some 2hrs and chat for the rest of the time.. Initially we have only a guitar and a very small basic keyboard.. I took my acoustic guitar cuz if someone asks anything, i have to play something with my guitar just to show them that we are practicing.. We did'nt even plan anything for the annual day and used to sing some random songs during the practice session.. That was how we used to kill time..

It was 3rd march, my birthday.. Vikas sir asked me to stay that evening for the practice.. Parvathi had lab to do so even she asked me to stay as she has to go alone back home.. I thought of staying but i could'nt resist vikas sir's request.. I told parvathi that i could'nt come and went with vikas sir.. Vikas sir wanted to buy a guitar so he wanted me to select the guitar for him.. I called clement (guitarist) with me, to select a good one for him.. I was not in good mood that time (had some personal problems).. Vikas sir told us to wait in Avadi station.. Varun (my friend) and vikas sir came to Avadi station after some 20 mins.. We got into the train and surprisingly they placed a birthday cake with my name written on it and asked me to cut it.. I was flabbergasted.. I cut the cake and shared with everyone.. Frankly, they really made my b'day so special and i was so happy.. Later, We went to Musee musicals (near casina theatre, mount road) and bought a guitar for vikas sir.. Myself and clement just walked in, took two awesome acoustic guitar and performed a small gig, attracting audience.. That was fun.. Then we went to THALAPPAKATTU and had nice food.. Actually it was my treat, but viaks sir paid for it eventually.. Then went to juice shop and had juice, we could'nt walk cuz we were fully loaded with food.. I really have to thank vikas sir, varun and clement for making my b'day so special..

Thats Vikas Sir with his new guitar.!

The date for the Annual Day was finalized and was preponed from 18th to 14th.. So we had to rush up with our practice.. We finalized songs and effective practice was begun.. I had my department (ECE) symposium on 12th.. My friends from SVCE came to participate in the events.. I've to be with them to show them the places where the events was taking place and also i've to be in the practice session as im the team leader.. I managed both somehow running here and there.. We planned to stay that day for the practice.. We asked the girls to leave early and we stayed in the college till 8:00.. That was the only time we used efficiently for the practice.. After the heavy practice, we completed two full songs and started at 8:30.. If we are in need of anything, we just walk to vikas sir cuz he just splurge money.. We had good food, drinks and stuffs and obviously vikas sir paid for it.. He is such a nice person not just cuz he spends a lot, but also has a very nice character and attitude..

Initially we had an acoustic guitar and a small keyboard.. On 12th everyone brought their instruments to college and at last we had two acoustic guitars (Vikas sir's and mine), Electric guitar (mine), Bass guitar (clement's), Yamaha clavier E403 keyboard (junior's), Yamaha PSR-550 (Dinesh's), Tabla (Venkata krishnan's), Manual Drums (Vinod's).. It was well organized and was better looking..

The actual practice started on 13th (the day before the Annual day, just like i used to study for my semester exams..!).. We stayed till 9:30 in our college and had a small rehearsal.. All our college staffs were there till 9 to make sure everything was perfect.. It was our CSE dept HOD who asked us to have dinner.. We were so hungry and thought of eating food outside cuz the food in our college wont be that good.. It was already late so we had to eat our canteen food.. We did'nt know the taste of food cuz we were so hungry as if we did'nt eat for ages (I thought i would fall sick.. thank god, i was normal the next day.!).. After the small rehearsal, we started off from there leaving all our instruments in college.. I reached home at 12..

It was 14th, i have to reach college early to set up everything up on stage.. Vikas sir wanted us to wear blazers as it looks attractive on stage.. It was 8:50 when our show started.. Everything went on well and i believe it would be much better if the audio system was proper.. Local audio controllers showed up who did'nt know what LEAD CORD is.. I shouted badly at them cuz he kept reducing the guitar volume in the mixer.. It really would've been better if the audio system was proper.. We had something called the 'Digital Orchestra'.. Digital orchestra is something that we create music using computers and softwares.. I composed the sahana bgm (FL) for the digital orchestra and i believe it came out well.. Our chairman and staffs were so impressed with this Digital orchestra and congratulated us.. but frankly, i dont think it was that good cuz the one who was playing the sahana lead must listen to the bgm as well., only then he can play.. but we forgot to place a speaker near him, so it was'nt that good the way we expected it.. He missed the beats and was a bit off tune.. But was'nt that bad..

Everything ended good as planned and ended up well.. I saw something that i did'nt expect from our college.. i have to write this down here.. There's a lot of politics (i guess its there in every college and we dont know).. Shit.! there's a big cold war happening.. Everyone has weird complex., a bad attitude within, except a few, very few.. I came to know all this cuz i was with vikas sir all the time and i know what was happening.. Every department has its own rules.. I cant say everything here, all i can say is this: "shit.!".. If i am the chairman, i would've stabbed the staffs who dont act like a staff..

I got many friends through this Annual Day like every other annual day.. As Clement and i were the team leaders, we had to face a lot of problems and small fights with juniors.. but everything was solved at last and we are friends now (small fights is the starting of a good friendship.! line nalla irukka.?).. I really miss those days and i cant participate in my next annual day cuz i'll be busy with my projects and placements.. This was my last Annual day and was fulfilling.. I enjoyed every moment, every second of my stay with them.. The only thing i worry is, No ODs. and i have to attend my classes now on..
